PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons allow for an awakening of essential body areas and the rediscovery of one's energy, vitality and inner strength. In private lessons I incorporate all of my vast training in order to give your body fluidity, self-assurance and balance. Alone or in small groups, you can benefit from my private teaching in your own home. My own personal studio and specialized equipment are also available for private instruction. Regular practice of Yoga can lead to a full and happy life. Controlling your pranayama (breathing) can bring enhanced awareness and an appeasement of the soul, whereas the asana (postures) develop the powers of perception and increase one's overall agility. Asana and pranayama help to maintain good health and acquire self-respect through a refined perception of one's own self. “The body is the temple of the soul. The asana are its prayers.” B.K.S. Iyengar I will adapt my teaching to your capabilities and allow you to progress at your own ideal rate through the use of therapeutic bolsters, steps, blankets, belts, chairs, etc. You might enjoy trying my Pilates method "mat class" on tatamis that combines yoga, dance and gymnastics techniques. Participants all must keep five basic principals in mind through the lessons: control, concentration, fluidity, power and suppleness. Most of the exercises concentrate on muscles located in the abdomen, buttocks and back. Depending on your personal needs, I adapt my instruction to specific parts of the body through the use of appropriate equipment like the "magic circle", the "foam roller" and the "Swiss ball", all designed to reestablish one's body equilibrium by soliciting the response of corresponding stabilizing muscles.
